I. Security Updates:

AmNet Consulting continually monitors security newsgroups, industry websites and mailing lists for the most up-to-date vulnerabilities announced in Microsoft and Linux based operating systems and applications. Our staff uses this information to keep your system patched with vendor-released updates, around the clock. Our clientele receive weekly reports on security work done to their systems, including notification of patches released and time of patch application.
Should a compromise occur, AmNet is available to consult with you, to assess any possible damage and help you formulate a timely and effective response.

II. Log file monitoring:

AmNet Consulting will set up proprietary software on your machine, to monitor the critical system log files and e-mail an analysis of all pertinent information to our technicians at the end of each week.* This allows us to notify you of any critical hardware errors, recurring software problems, breach of security attempts, DoS violations, and much more.

On Windows NT and Windows 2000 Servers, this entails monitoring the system's Event Log. On Linux systems this involves monitoring the system secure log and messages log.
 

Fee: Setup Fee, for custom notification software:

AmNet offers two types of firewall services: software- and hardware-based firewalls. Software firewalls can be installed on either Windows or Unix platforms. Several commercial applications are available for Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems,while Unix systems use such software packages as Ipchains and IPFW. An AmNet hardware firewall can be configured and implemented to protect your network from intruders, acting as either a bridge or a router, to protect your most vital systems.
All AmNet firewalls are setup to our clients' specifications. If you require specific information, regarding which ports and services to allow or deny is required, AmNet consulting services are available to assist you.
The AmNet firewall service can be easily combined with our log file monitoring services to provide statistics and reports on attempted intrusions.
Simple rule changes, such as adding or removing a port, ip address, or service are part of our Firewall Rules Maintenance Service. More advanced work, such as open service/port consulting, custom routing applications, etc., will be charged hourly.

IV. Vulnerability Assessments:

A scan of your system's security by a third party can be very beneficial to your organization. Overlooking even the smallest operating-system vulnerability can allow intruders to infiltrate your system and cause irreversible damage.
AmNet Consulting uses proprietary software to scan your system for possible vulnerabilities in your operating system and installed software, which will be reported to the client. Using this information, a security consultant can assist you in updating packages and securing all services on your system.

Labor Charge: Installing and configuring vulnerability patches/upgrades:

$125.00/hour $75.00/hour

There are no setup charges for either service.

AmNet Consulting will perform basic administration of IIS or Apache webserver software, including provisioning new websites, removing websites, configuring additional options (defined by contract) and other basic web site functions.

VI. Account administration:
 

AmNet Consulting will add, remove, and edit user accounts as necessary on your system. We will change passwords, file permissions, and other basic account information.

VII. Software installation:

AmNet Consulting provides software installation, configuration, and support for most third-party applications. These will be installed and supported on an incident basis at your request.

VIII. Consulting

AmNet Consulting can provide services for additional needs which may fall between the cracks. We offer consultation on server hardware, to determine whether or not a current system configuration is at optimum performance level; as well as software support and documentation consultation. All of this is handled on a per-incident basis.
 

Labor Charge:

$125.00/hour

Includes any issues not defined in the previous server administration contracts.

Network Engineering:

AmNet offers consulting focused on network design and engineering. We will design accustom solution for you, based upon your particular networking needs, implementing load-balancing services, among a wide array of available options. A server often has networking issues that affect uptime; we will access and troubleshoot any problem, as well as suggest and implement a solution based upon our findings.
